Overflow Youth Ministry

Our mission is to love God and to love students to God.  Our goal is to build a student ministry based on youth obtaining an in-love relationship with Christ such that there is an OVERFLOW of God in every part of their lives.  The leadership of OSM believes strongly in the idea of student empowerment.  We believe students can grow to a place of spiritual maturity to where they become the hands and feet of Christ--even as youth!  In other words students can become the church of today!

Overflow Student Ministry continues to rock and reach out for Jesus Christ!   We are awed to welcome youth from all over the Tri-County area who are seeking Christ’s presence in a way that inspires us all.   Misty Smith, Tiffany Mims, Nate Knapp, Danna Beale and the emerging Student Leadership Team inspire and challenge our rising 7th-12th graders to dig deeper and genuinely “walk the talk”. We equip our youth each Wednesday night from 6:30-8:00 P.M. through meaningful worship, games, drama, media, prayer, and a faith-challenging message every week.   In addition, we serve on Sunday mornings in ministry areas throughout WellSpring and help with children's events throughout the year.

A highlight of the week for our youth is the challenging and encouraging Overflow Outreach which comes their e-way weekly from Tiffany or Misty.  Here's an excerpt from the latest:

"Do you know how lucky we are to be able to worship and read the Word of God in public? Tonight, Rush of Fools played a concert before the game. I was sitting there listening to 5 guys and a lot of crowd PRAISING GOD in a BASEBALL STADIUM! I know I seem excited, but that does not happen everyday. There are so many nations where people have to hide in tunnels, small rooms, and abandoned places in small groups, by little light, and with only pages of the Bible. These people risk their lives everyday to follow the ONE TRUE GOD.

There I was sitting in a stadium full of thousands of people, praising God and saying the name of Jesus. How lucky am I? We were able to lift our hands and our voices to thank God for all He has done… THEN WE PRAYED! IN PUBLIC!  You probably think I am crazy, but people try to “take God out” of schools and the pledge and off of money, forbid us to pray in public just in case we hurt someone’s feelings, and forbid us to worship the ONE TRUE GOD because we could make people who do not believe upset. So when we had the opportunity to praise, pray, and show the love of Christ, I realized just how lucky
we are.

As we worshiped, I could feel God’s presence so strongly. I couldn’t sit still and I started crying. The sky was cloudy, yet still bright. It looked like it would rain, but it never did. And on what should have been a very hot evening, it was cool. A breeze was blowing, and I felt like God was saying, “I am so pleased. Thank you, my children, for showing your love for Me.”

Tomorrow, we get another opportunity to praise God without persecution or risk of death. I pray that each of you will take advantage of the freedom we still have and praise God with all you have. For those of you going to En Fuego, I hope we come home hoarse because we sing His praise so long and so loud. Satan hates to hear us praise God.  Let’s make him really mad tomorrow and let him know he is not welcome to the party. This party is only for ONE, OUR GOD, OUR SAVIOR! I am pumped and ready to go!  For Wednesday night, remember, we are in John chapter 2. The memory verse is John 2:5. Study up and get ready to discuss Wednesday! See you all soon. :)"
